My name is Elize Bruin. I am originally from the Netherlands but have spent a significant part of my life in the United States. My adventure took a remarkable turn when I embarked on a solo trip to Portugal. It was an experience that stole my heart and, in just six months, I managed to pack up my life and relocate here with my four beloved animals. That leap of faith led me to living a dream life here for over 3 years now.
I’m thrilled to share my journey and passion for helping others find their Happy Place here in Portugal.
My Story
I live in a lovely beach community, nestled outside of Lisbon (just across the bridge). This beautiful setting allows me to embrace an active lifestyle, enjoying the sun, sand, and lovely culture that Portugal has to offer. When I want to experience the fun and vibrant city lifestyle, Lisbon is an easy and quick commute.
I am a real estate agent, which gives me the expertise to help you with all facets of your relocations needs. I can help you with navigating the local market, guide you through the rental or purchase of your home, and all other intricacies of relocating to a new country. I am a licensed REALTOR® in the United States, where I have developed my commitment to high standards in business practices and exceptional customer service. I practiced real estate in Wilmington, North Carolina, for more than five years before pursuing my dreams of living back in Europe.

Moving to Portugal alone with my animal companions has provided me with valuable insights into an individual lifestyle here. Now, having established my own little family, I can fully appreciate the nuances of family life. This journey has enriched my experiences, allowing me to embrace both the independence of solo living and the joys of family togetherness.

​I welcomed my child into the world in Portugal, making my connection to this country even deeper. He was born with medical complications resulting in extensive hospital stays and various medical procedures. Despite the challenges we faced due to his medical complications, the warm support and resources available here made our journey much more manageable. Today, he thrives in this wonderful environment, benefiting from the exceptional care of the Portuguese medical system.

My experiences as an avid traveler and a member of several expat and nomad groups have equipped me with the insights and connections necessary to assist others in their relocation journeys.

Additionally, I’ve personally renovated my own home here, giving me a unique perspective on the challenges and rewards of settling into a new place.
